Seven days to play 3 songs......longest doom songs ever.....
It's been a while since our last update, as usual, and the summer months have crept into our lives with an unnerving ease. It is usually around this time in the Mourning Beloveth cycle that we would be in the midst of writing a new album but it hasn't worked out that way this time round. Firstly and most importantly we had the pleasure of welcoming a new member into the band so we thought we would play one or two gigs to welcome him. This spiralled around December when we were asked to play the seventh addition of Doom Shall Rise, after a six year break, and how could we say no to our German friends. Suffice to say, after a gig in Limerick we were ready to headline DSR on the Friday night in the chapel and it turned out to be one of our best sets in a while and the crowd reaction confirmed our thoughts on the gig. Next up was SWr in Portugal...

back to reality... Well, nearly a week back after the final show of the Milestones of Misery tour and a

reflection... First and foremost, a heartfelt hail and thanks to all those who got off their backside
to attented any of the shows, bought some merch, raised a glass or 3 with us, headbanged,
roared abuse, laughed at our accents, fell over and helped in their own way to help us
spread a lil DOOM over Europe this Spring- have a drink on us, you fuckin legends!!!

It’s been a relatively busy few months for us. Following the cancellation of the tour in March and the album release in May we laid low until October due to family reasons I am sure plenty of you are aware of. October came and we fulfilled a long time commitment to play Lithuania. Over 500 payers that created one of the best and friendliest atmospheres we have ever experienced and an almost flawless performance from us made it a memorable weekend and not a drunken Irish man in sight. Two weeks later we were in Belgium in a town best described as the “Athy of Belgium” and despite the PA blowing up twice, the soundman 4 hours late and Tim ripping a snare skin during the first song, all during bouts of power failures we still played well enough for the small crowd to enjoy an hour of doom.

Well as you know by now the gig in Romania was cancelled due to the promoter not booking flights for us or any other band for the festival so sorry to anyone who made the trip to see us there. Our set at Day of darkness was one of our best in a long time and it was good to play the new songs live after them only living in rehearsals so long.

Forgive me Father it's been a while since my last confession and alot has happened in that time. As you know by now the tour we had planned for March had to be cancelled and those who know us know the reasons why but we will not go in to them here. For a band who has never cancelled a gig, let alone a tour it was a big decision but one that had to be made.
